    GM Financial is seeking an energetic, detailed IT Project Manager to drive the planning and execution of Salesforce projects and/or releases within the International Operations (IO) line of business.  This opportunity is based in Detroit, MI.  The projects will be primarily focused around implementing/enhancing Salesforce SalesCloud and ServiceCloud capabilities.  GMF IO has Salesforce implementations supporting business operations in Brazil, Mexico, Chile, and Colombia.  GMF IO is making continuous investments in the Salesforce implementations. 


    • Responsible for the deliverables, cost, schedule, and quality of the project.
    • Develops, reviews and approves project plan(s) and scope; ensuring all facets of the project deliverables are met.
    • Responsible for communicating to business owners/key stakeholders on issues, action items, tasks, decisions that are part of the project.
    • Works directly with assigned resources and members of the leadership team to manage risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies; while ensuring on-time delivery of project deliverables
    • Contributes to issue resolution, allocates and directs staff and other resources to accomplish project tasks, and maintains full control over all aspects of projects.
    • Monitors and drives the progress of the team, which includes vendors, development teams and resource across GMF globally.
    • Coordinates people, tasks and dependencies to execute accordingly to the project plan.
    • Produces timely and accurate reports to IT Program Management and key stakeholders regarding progress, conflicts, risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies.
    • Develops and maintains strong relationships with vendor resources, vendor management, development teams, stakeholders and senior management. Establishes a reliable and consistent communication channel with all stakeholders.
    • Has a thorough understanding of business matters and technical concepts required for successful project delivery.
    • Uses appropriate knowledge, creativity, priorities, pragmatic and company practices to obtain solutions to complex problems.
    • Interfaces with senior management to provide and obtain information and to build consensus regarding project direction.
    • Takes a hands-on approach to the management of all project activities and drives teams to deliver quality in a timely fashion.





    • Minimum of 5 years IT project management experience.
    • Experience in managing large, high profile projects.
    • Experience in managing diverse stakeholders relationships.
    • Degree level educated or equivalent experience in IT.
    • Available to travel internationally for business purposes on short notice, potentially for extended periods of time (up to 1 month)
    • Experience in working with Agile/Waterfall methodologies.


    • PMP certification.
    • Salesforce experience
    • Financial services industry experience
    • Experience managing third party vendors

    Skills & Knowledge:

    • Proven track record of delivering significant finance IT projects.
    • Ability to manage large and complex IT projects involving multiple vendors and stakeholders in diverse geographical locations.
    • Detailed knowledge of project management methodologies, tools and software development life cycles.
    • Thorough understanding of project financials, budgeting and business value.
    • Ability to manage project issues and conflicts and deliver quality projects within budget and scope.
    • Ability to deliver quality solutions to customers and develop process improvements where applicable.
    • Outstanding communication skills in both written and spoken form. Capable of communicating ideas in both technical and business language.
    • Skilled in communicating with senior business, vendors and key stakeholders.
    • Ability to thoroughly understand the business issues surrounding IT matters.
    • Outstanding customer relationship management skills and strong customer focus.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
    • Outstanding at working under pressure and to tight deadlines whilst maintaining quality solutions.
    • Ability to be flexible to working locations, working hours and international travel to support the needs of the project.
    • Ability to operate with the utmost integrity and consistently display a positive attitude to work and the various challenges encountered in a project environment.
    • Highly self-motivated and directed, with an attention to detail.
