    The Colombia Deposit Taking IT Leader is responsible for:

    • The initial implementation of the IT solutions associated with Colombia deposit taking platform
    • Continued enhancement of the platform based on business and technology roadmaps
    • Ongoing operations of the deposit taking platform in-line with policies, standards, and service level agreements


    Position Objectives

    • Manages internal GMF and external (contractors, consults, etc.) teams to define, design, and deliver a deposit taking solution that meets requirements (business, system, and non-functional) as well as budget and quality objectives
    • Partners with the deposit taking Operations Director to develop business and technology roadmaps to ensure the platform stays up to date from capability and supportability perspectives
    • Defines and builds the local IT team necessary for the successful implementation and ongoing operations of the deposit taking platform
    • Engages effectively with central teams and leverages where appropriate; examples include Cyber Security, Service Delivery, Infrastructure and Hosting, Architecture, and Business Intelligence / Data Platforms
    • Uses a broad and deep understanding of technical concepts in multiple specialized fields to develop solutions to problems, to assess critical design issues and to employ scenario planning techniques to identify most suitable options
    • Works with business partners to define and prioritize potential projects, in line with defined roadmaps, that will be evaluated during portfolio management governance
    • Accountable for IT business planning aspects of the deposit taking business unit and managing to annual budget
    • Reviews and evaluates the performance of the work team(s) and of the individuals on the teams ensuring employee engagement is maximized across all IT teams.
    • Works independently with minimal guidance and will likely supervise the work of lower level personnel to deliver to business expectations.
    • Ensures ongoing adherence to all relevant compliance regulations that may govern both local country and broader entities; ensures that policies, processes, and standards are followed
    • Contributes to strategies and ensures delivery of IT products and services that meet and exceed Customer Experience expectations


    Qualifications & Experience

    • Minimum of 10 years professional experience in IT covering application and infrastructure at a management level
    • Degree level educated or equivalent experience; advanced degree preferred
    • Management experience
    • International environment - experienced in working in international and virtual teams
    • Colombia banking industry experience highly preferred
    • Fluent in Spanish, both oral and written
    • Fluent in English, both oral and written

    Skills & Knowledge

    • Communication – Can communicate effectively with senior stakeholders and technical resources, often remotely. Able to present complex IT concepts to non-IT people in simple ways. Ability to effectively communicate IT issues and recommendations to senior level management within and outside of IT.
    • Program/Project Management – Experienced in managing a portfolio of projects and project planning and execution. Experienced in working on large projects with distributed resources. Knowledgeable about standard project life cycle and project management methodologies.
    • Customer Focus – Gets to the root of customer needs and works to add value to their expectations. Establishes and maintains effective relationships and gains their trust and respect.
    • Business Acumen – Able to understand, communicate, and direct the use of technology for business benefit, and to talk in business language rather than IT. Keeps up-to-date with competitors, relationships with customers, market evolution, etc. Able to articulate the company's business requirements and objectives and translate those into IT solutions.
    • Influencing – Can work outside of traditional reporting relationships to get things done.
    • Resource Management – Able to supervise staff and make personnel decisions Determine how and when the result of the work team(s) will be achieved.
