    Responsible for providing PMO support and project oversight services to the Transition Management Office (TMO) within the GMF IT Function. Ensures project organization, governance and delivery of quality solutions.




    • Assists with the oversight of all transition projects and ensure PMO and transition practices are followed
    • Works closely with business and IT stakeholders to determine delivery priorities for transition projects
    • Collaborates with and coaches transition project managers on the PMO processes, tools and practices
    • Responsible for establishing new processes, templates and tools to improve our practices, as well as train the applicable project managers in their usage. Provides direction to all project and teams associated with transition activities
    • Responsible for consolidating TMO reporting for progress, costs and schedule of all projects under the transition
    • Develops templates and reviews project plans, collects issues & risks
    • Ensures project report progress within Planview
    • Produces timely and accurate reports to executive management regarding progress, issues, risks and conflicts, as well as chairs sponsor and leadership status meetings.
    • Oversees project managers and work-stream leads to ensure PMO practices are being followed
    • Develops and maintains strong working relationships with transition project managers.
    • Thorough understanding of project management practices and processes, as well as a strong communications and financial aptitude
    • Interfaces with executive management to provide and obtain information and to build consensus regarding program direction, set priorities and resolve issues
    • Takes a hands-on approach to the management of all program activities and drives teams to deliver quality in a timely fashion
    • Uses appropriate knowledge, creativity and company practices and priorities to obtain solutions to complex problems
    • Takes a hands-on approach to the management of all project activities and drives teams to deliver quality in a timely fashion
    • Evaluate trade-offs between project size and complexity, cost, urgency, risk, and stakeholder value
    • Partner with business sponsors to define success metrics and criteria
    • Build, lead, and coach multiple project teams throughout project lifecycles
    • Facilitate all operational checkpoint activities throughout the lifecycle of projects
    • Assess and resolve all high priority project risks as they are encountered
    • Ensure all projects adhere to project methodology compliance standards set by the company
    • Continually update relevant business stakeholder of project status
    • Ensure all projects meet success parameters and ROI targets stated in business case
    • Responsible for the deliverables, cost, schedule, and quality of the project 
    • Develops/reviews/approves project plans, manages issues & risks, contributes to issue resolution, allocates and directs staff and other resources to accomplish project tasks, and maintains full control over all aspects of a project(s) 
    • Monitors the progress of the team, which may include GMF employee and/or vendor team members, informs the team of its progress and provides the team with support and direction 
    • Produces timely and accurate reports to senior management regarding progress, issues, risks and conflicts
    • Works with technical lead and/or vendor team management to supervise/develop resources
    • Develops and maintains strong relationships with vendor resources and vendor management
    • Has thorough understanding of technical concepts required for specialized field





    • Undergraduate degree is required; Master’s degree in business or IT is preferred.
    • PMP certification desired
    • Minimum of 5 years project management and/or PMO experience overseeing a large global initiative consisting of multiple work-streams and numerous projects being executed by a geographically dispersed team
    • Experience of establishing and rolling out project management practices and templates
    • Experience with Microsoft Project and Planview Enterprise
    • Experience of collaborating with remote project managers
    • Strong service orientated, collaborative attitude with both peers and internal customers
    • Availability to travel for business purposes, potentially up to 20%



    • Previous experience in financial services, ideally automotive finance
    • Prior experience with global program and stakeholders
    • Experience with infrastructure and applications projects
    • Agile/Scrum Master experience and/or certification (SAFe, PMI-ACP)
    • ITIL certified, or equivalent experience

    Skills & Knowledge:

    • Experience with large matrixed project teams made up of multiple departments, vendors and stakeholders in diverse geographical locations
    • Detailed knowledge of Program Management methodologies and project management tools and the software development life cycles
    • Outstanding communication skills in both written and spoken form
    • Outstanding customer relationship management skills and strong customer service focus
    • Thorough understanding, analyze and communicate of program financials and budgets
    • Experience with migration and conversion projects
    • Strong business acumen
    • Able to quickly adapt to challenging dynamic environments
    • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to understand and manage technical upgrades and migration tasks
    • Ability to maintain detailed project plan/tasks that span numerous applications
    • Ability to act as the team's primary interface between the various IT teams
    • Ability to manage project issues and conflicts across stakeholder while delivering quality solutions
    • Ability to operate with the utmost integrity and consistently display a positive attitude to work and the various challenges encountered in a project environment
    • Ability to act as the team's primary interface between IT and the business applications teams and owners and to drive business value through the implementation of supporting application changes
    • Thorough understanding of project financials and budgeting
    • Ability to assess where technical solutions fit in current and future processes
