  • Overview

    The Insurance Specialist is responsible for supporting the Insurance Manager with technical, administrative and commercial processes for insurance programs such as Vehicle Insurance, Credit Life, and Extended Guarantee, in order to provide competitive pricing/offers to customers who finance or lease GM vehicles through the GM Dealer Network.

    Responsibilities

    • Monthly vendor & insurance operations reporting (both information analysis and data control).
    • Monthly Insurance KPI’s analysis.
    • New tracking files/dashboards development for Insurance or Sales related activities.
    • Insurance product loss analysis and after sales metric reports.
    • Product development.
    • Insurance product benchmarking (financial automotive industry).
    • Insurance Companies & Vendor management in both commercial negotiations and customer service.
    • Support the Insurance Accounting Area with portfolio payment follow-up.
    • Support the Consumer Credit Area with Insurance related issues, administration and FAQ.
    • Support the Customer Service Area with product assessment & indemnity procedures.
    • Responsible for pricing administration and data entry into the Insurance Internal System.
    • Responsible for the administration & coordination of insurance fleet renewals, for company cars and employee benefit.
    • Aid in the development of training material for the Finance & Insurance (F&I) and sales trainers.
    • Support the Legal department in the insurance vendor contract renewals.
    • Active participation in special assignments or projects as assigned.
    • GMF’s P&C inward policies administration (issuance, payment and endorsements).

    Qualifications

    Academic Background

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Engineering or related is required.
    • Strong oral and written communication skills in Spanish and English

     

    Skills & Knowledge

    • At least +5 years of experience in insurance (automotive, credit life or related) through commercial offering, insurance sales management or as a broker.
    • Experience in massive or fleet insurance programs is a plus.
    • Vendor management and negotiation skills.
    • Teamwork and collaborative attitude.
    • Commercial and negotiation skills.
    • Data Analysis and constant follow-up skills.
    • Detail Oriented.
    • Ability to multitask.
    • Highly responsible and proactive attitude.
    • Customer focused approach.
    • Intermediate Microsoft Office Skills (Access database management is a plus).
