This position will assist in the development and implementation of the Data Governance Framework; establishing, communicating and enforcing processes & procedures related to metadata management, data quality, data security, and master data management.  Additionally this position will support the adoption of the IO data strategy by working with data users and BI to address Data Governance Framework related issues.

Retail Data Strategy (RDS) works with Business Intelligence (BI) to modernize the technical underpinnings of the infrastructure, as well as to lead the corporate-wide efforts to centralize consumer data into a standardized, timely, and controlled environment. Our Mission is to simplify the efforts of anyone who uses GMF IO Retail data in order to make decisions.  There are three main initiatives; building a single retail data warehouse (The GRID – Global Retail Information Depository), developing self-service reporting capabilities, and implementing a data governance framework.

Responsibilities

  • This position has accountability for these major blocks of responsibilities:
  • Data Governance / Operations Lead Data StewardCoordinate the content of the Enterprise Business Glossary (BG) with data stewards
  • Assist with developing data governance procedures, roles and responsibilities
  • Reporting Strategy
  • Assist business user’s adoption of the data warehouse environment through analysis of data governance aspect such as quality, security, master data management, etc.
  • IO Data Strategy Projects
  • Assist and represent business users data requirements related to data transformation initiatives

Qualifications

  • Bachelor´s degree (or equivalent) in Business, Engineering, Economics, Finance, MIS, or related analytical field
  • 3-5 years relevant experience operating in business role within the banking / finance / consulting industry. Significant experience in data management and building business intelligence capabilities within a business function environment (e.g. Risk or Finance).
  • 3-5 years progressive analytical, operations and process management experience in a data intense environment
  • Experience operating within an international organization interacting with global functions and operations
  • Results oriented, high on leadership and ability to motivate others
  • Strong quantitative analytical ability to perform data analysis/management and a high degree of technical aptitude to leverage systems and data to promote business intelligence; strong conceptual, analytical and business judgment
  •  Excellent comprehension, verbal and written skills in English
  • Spanish or Portuguese language is a plus
