Overview

The Integration Architect is responsible for the delivery of the integration design for all IT projects and programmes.

They are accountable for defining and documenting the integration architecture as well as providing technical leadership to other solution architects, developers and vendors. They ensure alignment with the company’s IT standards, patterns and strategies and work in close partnership with the enterprise architecture, infrastructure and service delivery functions.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as technical expert in application and integration architecture for software development teams.
  • Experienced in delivering IT solutions; develops the technical strategy for the project and acts as SME to program/project teams in the plan, design, and delivery of solutions.
  • Responsible for delivering technical artefacts e.g. interface or service designs
  • Aligns project architecture to pragmatic and strategic views for the product.
  • Advises teams of GMF standard requirements, security standards, methodology and processes.
  • Assists the project team in estimating the architecture design effort and in developing/ reviewing/ approving architecture designs.
  • Advises project teams on the application of standards/methodology practices to the project.
  • Drives short & long term architecture strategy for the overall IT project portfolio for key business segments.
  • Participates in proof of concepts to assist in defining technology direction and enabling business strategy.
  • Communicates and validates program architecture with IO architecture team, program / project manager, executive level stakeholders.
  • Uses a broad and deep understanding of technical concepts in multiple specialized fields to develop solutions to problems and design issues.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • May manage relationships with suppliers/vendors.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience of integration technologies including Enterprise Service Bus and Managed File Transfer
  • Solution design experience implementing Tibco Business Works 5.x or 6.x
  • Solution design experience implementing Axway Secure Transport 5.x an advantage
  • Good understanding of messaging technologies e.g. EMS and MQ Series
  • Skilled in service oriented modeling and architecture
  • Ability to interact with and provide architectural design guidance to project teams made up of employee and/or supplier resources
  • Knowledge of the software development process and how it fits within the IT architecture and infrastructure
  • Knowledge of enterprise platforms, application containers, messaging, service oriented models, SOAP and REST
  • Knowledge and understanding of industry trends and new technologies and ability to apply trends to architectural needs
  • Knowledge of standards in IT architecture and infrastructure
  • Knowledge of TOGAF
  • Ability to develop guidelines and standards
  • Understanding of GMF’s Information Security Policy and Procedures how they fit within the IT architecture and infrastructure
