We are looking for a FS & Regulatory Reporting Sr. Analyst to be part of our Finance/Accounting Team in Monterrey, N.L.

 

This position is responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of USGAAP and MXGAAP monthly Financial Statements (incl. Regulatory and Statutory Reporting) for Mexico.

 

Working under the leadership of the FS and Regulatory Manager, this position includes the responsibility for the preparation of the trial balance, variance analysis reporting, implementing controls aligned with GMF accounting policy and providing information and responding to inquiries from auditors and the Regulator (CNBV) in a timely and accurate fashion.

 

This position requires strong collaboration and communication skills coupled with the ability to work effectively in a team with both internal (FSS, tax, etc.) and external (auditor, CNBV) counterparts.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the timely and accurate preparation of financial reporting to regulatory authorities (CNBV, Banxico, SE y BMV). This includes reviewing the loss reserve calculation for correctness according to CNBV regulation
  • Monitor and analyze any changes to local regulation and communicate impacts to manager and Controller.
  • Preparation of monthly Financial Statements in Local and USGAAP
  • Prepare regulatory reports for authorities in an accurate and timely fashion (CNBV, Banco de Mexico and BMV).
  • Service in an accurate and timely fashion information requested by regulatory authorities.
  • Perform and review with leadership a thorough analysis and validation of the loss reserve calculation.
  • Ensure publication of financial statements according to regulations.
  • Be aware and communicate to leadership any changes in regulation affecting the entity
  • Prepare analysis in anticipation of any impacts to Financial Statements due to changes in the regulation.
  • Drive and support automation of processes and any modifications required from Regulatory Authorities
  • Supervise the daily activities of an intern.
  • Communication with auditors, regulators and official translators on topics related to this position.

Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience

  • Accounting bachelor degree is a must
  • Master degree is a plus
  • +3 years of experience in a position of regulatory reporting or compliance to authorities as BMV, CNBV, BANXICO, SE and SEC, in a Bank, financial institution or in a position within an Authority (CNBV, Banxico) is a must.
  • Proficient English spoken and written is a must (will be evaluated during interview)

 

Skills and knowledge
