Overview

  • Serve as IT Owner for GMF IO Retail Systems.
  • Review and approve project plans/schedules, manage issues & risks, contribute to issue resolution, allocate and direct staff and other resources to accomplish project tasks. Maintain full control over all aspects of the Retail Systems program.  This includes being responsible and accountable for the deliverables, cost, schedule, and quality of all projects and releases within the Retail Systems program.
  • Maintain line management responsibility for all Retail Systems project and release team members; resources may be on-site and off-site. This includes being responsible for the day to day management, coaching, motivation, and development of team members.
  • Actively participate in the Delivery and Deployment leadership team and leads cross-departmental initiatives as assigned.
  • Provide direction to all project, service and solution teams for application development activities.
  • Monitoring and control internal and external IT resources, as well as, project and release progression.
  • Produce timely and accurate reports to executive management concerning project & release status, issues, risks, and financials.
  • Partner with external supplier’s management team to supervise & develop vendor resources.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with functional business partners, Business Application Owners and external supplier resources.
  • Interact on a frequent basis with project sponsors to application business owners to ensure that issues are appropriately managed. This includes, but not limited to, maintaining responsibility for hosting and leading Steering Committee forum.
  • Interface with executive management on a regular basis to provide and obtain information and to build consensus regarding program direction.
  • Has (or will gain) a thorough understanding of technical concepts required for specialized field.
  • Maintain detailed application roadmaps (3-5 years) for all retail platforms.
  • Use appropriate knowledge, creativity and company practices and priorities to obtain solutions to complex problems.
  • Take a hands-on approach to the management of all program activities and drives teams to deliver quality in a timely fashion.
  • Ensure that all support and service tickets are resolved within the service level objectives and that detailed statistics on service performance is maintained.
  • Ensure that preventative and scheduled maintenance activities are carried out in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Ensure that system uptime is in accordance with service level objectives.
  • Participate and support all relevant audit activities. Ensure timely development and implementation of action plans to remediate SOX and Non SOX-related deficiencies
  • Ensure systems remain compliant with all policies and procedures; maintain highest level of integrity.
  • Lead by example.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to oversee multiple large and complex IT projects involving multiple vendors and stakeholders in diverse geographical locations.
  • Detailed knowledge of development methodologies (i.e. waterfall, AGILE) and project management tools.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.
  • Outstanding customer relationship management skills and strong customer service focus.
  • Ability to thoroughly understand the business issues surrounding each project.
  • Ability to communicate with senior business and vendor stakeholders.
  • Superior problem solving skills.
  • Thorough understanding of program financials and budgeting
  • Ability to deliver quality solutions to customers and develop process improvements where applicable
  • Ability to operate with the utmost integrity and consistently display a positive attitude to work and the various challenges encountered in a program environment.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed, with an attention to detail.
  • Able to prioritize and execute tasks
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Minimum of 5 years IT program management experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years IT project management experience.
  • Experience managing large, high profile projects and programs.
  • Experience managing diverse stakeholder relationships.
  • Experience managing IT resources (internal and external)
  • Degree level educated or equivalent experience.
  • Available to travel internationally for business purposes, potentially for extended periods (up to 1 month).

 

Preferable:

  • Experience managing offshore IT suppliers.
  • Understanding of retail lending business processes.
  • Understanding of retail lending business processes.
  • Experience of program management in a back office / retail lending environment.
