Overview

The Procurement / Supply Chain Manager will drive value for the business by implementing and managing the central IT strategic and tactical Supply Chain Management activities across the International Operations group.  This role requires a self-motivated all-rounder who is enthusiastic about working within an international matrix organization and able to manage key stakeholders within the business.  Whilst the category focus will be primarily on IT Platforms and Services, experience in indirect category management (Recruitment, Facility Management, Consultancy) will be essential.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement sourcing category strategies for high value Core IT platforms, and services
  • Assist with hardware, software and technology services sourcing
  • Partner with business stakeholders to determine business needs and corresponding strategies (e.g. cost reduction, operational efficiency, etc)  related to third party providers
  • Analyze expense data and market intelligence regarding technology and non-technology products and services
  • Conduct Supplier Management Reviews for critical service providers to IO
  • Manage the contract and negotiation process to ensure proper risk mitigation
  • Lead negotiations (e.g. price, rates, terms & conditions) for large scale sourcing projects
  • Ensure adherence to corporate policy and procedures regarding procurement of goods & services from third party providers
  • Ensure that appropriate documentation is developed, maintained and published as required
  • Proactively identify and execute continuous improvement opportunities
  • Provide subject matter expertise for process and system changes
  • Manages the supply of materials, products/services, and equipment necessary for the operation of the assigned business area(s)
  • Understanding and promoting GMF’s policy on Treating Customers Fairly (TCF).

Qualifications

  • Ideally MCIPS qualified or equivalent by experience
  • Extensive experience in developing and implementing Category Strategies at an international level across a variety of categories preferably in the Financial Services or IT sector
  • Strong Leadership and team building skills, ideally in a multi-cultural environment
  • Language skills proficiency in English , with additional preferred second language of French, German or Italian
  • Utilisation of eSourcing and associated tools

 Skills and Knowledge

  • Ability to work independently and deliver results in line with business priorities and strategy
  • Clear view and understanding of Financial Services and IT European and global supply market (capability, competition, geographic coverage)
  • Good knowledge of Supplier Market research and analysis
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Excellent understanding and knowledge of international Supply Chain Category Management
  • Ability to manage a wide range of sourcing processes
  • Travel up to 20% within the designated region ( primarily in Germany / UK)
